More Team Mom action today, going through boxes we packed in Indy to see whether Mom really needs what is in them (or even has room for the stuff) and trying to troubleshoot some computer issues so that she is ready to go with email. For exercise, I picked up sticks in my sister’s massive yard and did a couple of spins around the block. My sisters and I dyed Easter eggs, which I haven’t done since sometime in the 1970s. The brown egg shells made for interesting color outcomes.
After lunch, we six adults packed into the minivan for a drive in the New York countryside. Sights encountered: a stunning overlook of Canandaigua Lake and a funny church that my dad used to call the Church of the Holy Cheese (or maybe that was Holey Cheese). Mom has been quiet but content, and I suspect she’s growing anxious about her big move-in day on Monday. So am I, anxious for her, but I know this is a good move. Today is National Find a Rainbow Day. Here’s hoping Mom will find rainbows.
I hope your Mom settles in and is happy in her new home.
Happy Easter to you. It’s a beautiful day in the neighbourhood! All best wishes, Robin x
Thank you, Robin! Challenging times for everyone, so we’re trying to make Mom as comfortable and content as possible in her final years.
