Another quiet day, at least in theory, but not if you count the incessant whirring of my Brood X neighbors who have been nonstop soliciting for sex in my yard—and everyone else’s yards. To get some peace, I headed out on my bike after work (it’s World Bicycle Day), but alas, the little noise machines were not to be avoided. One place where it is more quiet was the cemetery, which is odd but only from the standpoint that there are plenty of large trees there—and lots of the cicadas buzzing around—but the noise isn’t so bad.
The tilers came today, so more progress made on the upstairs bath, and one of the lawn ornaments (the Bobcat with the digger) was taken away to another job site. There are still more bits of pieces of Bobcat thingies lying around, and I’m tempted to see how much I could get for them on Craigslist.
Tonight we’re bracing for severe thunderstorms. Ankle getting better, and I look forward to another doctor’s visit tomorrow where I anticipate she will deem me good to go bootless. Tomorrow is Audacity to Hope Day, so maybe, just maybe… If such bootless hopes are dashed, I will celebrate tomorrow’s National Cognac Day and National Donut Day.
