Contractor #1 came today to fix the leaky basement door and windows he installed back in May. Praying for another one of our seemingly more common torrential rains to test the waters. Contractor #2 ready to start the basement job on Monday. When I talked to Mamacita tonight about it, she wondered if I knew what I was getting myself into. I do, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to like the next 8 to 10 weeks of it. On top of that, they’ll start ripping out the master bath when the basement is done. I’m stealing myself for months of periodic frustration and thinking it’s about time I replenished my gin supply. I see adult drinks in my future.
This afternoon I was interviewed live on a podcast about my memoir, although I wish I’d had a chance to talk about my other books. Viewers can catch the interview on YouTube.
It was delightfully cooler and less humid today, so I went for a long bike ride, stopping at a couple more Little Free Libraries to drop off copies of the first edition of my third book that I want to unload. Hubby has also been making the rounds while driving in his work van; he has them all scoped out in his work area. He even handed some copies to a few customers. They’re finally putting in the overpass on our local bike trail at a dangerous road crossing. We’ve been promised this for 5 years!
This evening our neighbors across the street came by with more homemade Indian food, which we love. Tomorrow she’s brining by black lentils—a personal fave of mine. We shall keep supplying her with eggplants and peppers from the garden. Hubby and I worked on our puzzles, and I finally finished the impossible dog puppies one after 2 or 3 months. I’m going for a scenic one next. Tonight I’ll dream of paws, tails, and wet noses.
