Joined my friend Ann for an early morning walk and discussion at her outdoor office by the Potomac River. Watched the sun rise and talked about how we can support each other in our creative endeavors. Going to make meeting her at an outdoor beauty place a regular thing. |

Part of my 4-mile commute to work today. I didn’t take a picture of the 3-foot-long black rat snake that was slithering across the trail. I hope it made it without being run over by other cyclists. |

Today is International Chocolate Day and National Peanut Day. How fortuitous that my employer provides these snacks, any time we want? (Sometimes when I step on the scales, I think it’s not fortuitous at all. I’ll stop getting on the scales.) |

Received a lovely email from Mamacita today in response to my blog posts on 9/11. It was a little pep talk about not giving up hope and remembering God’s love and forgiveness and all the good things about life. She ended with this: “Keep on WRITING. You have a gift – maybe Grandpa Black is smiling down on you!!!”
I just love my little mama.

Hubby and I started and finished a 500-piece puzzle this evening. He thinks we should enter a speed contest for puzzlers. I suggested he start doing ones with smaller pieces to get over his fear of failure. Baby steps. |
