Learned today that my interviews went well (they gave me good marks or whatever it is interviewers are required to give). The prospective manager is writing a statement of support, and then the matter goes to the hiring committee. So looks like I’ll be changing roles soon, which I couldn’t be more excited about!

Later this afternoon I met a new friend, a kindred spirit whom I’ve been trying to get together with for several months. I was going to go on a backpacking trip with her and a group of other women back in May, but someone (ahem) twisted her ankle and chipped a bone so had to back out. Like me, she also studied forestry, but about 4 to 6 years ahead of me. Unlike me, she also majored in math (the subject gives me the heebie jeebies). And like me, she’s really into the intersection of nature and spirituality. Unlike me, she’s much more together and has actually developed courses around the topic and runs The Center for Spirituality in Nature. I’ll be starting her online course on Thursday evening in forest bathing, which I’m super excited about. That’s two things to be excited about this week, apart from just the general gratefulness to be alive and well.

So let’s just end this day on a high note.
