Talked to my sister today, and she’s better. She’s tired and concerned but feeling loved by all the people who’ve been praying for her. I’m going to make an appointment with my cardiologist and insist on getting some tests that can take a peeksie at my arteries. Feeling grateful she’s alive.
The bathroom cabinets are set, and the tub is in the bathroom not yet hooked up. What’s left is the plumbing, a few electrical things to sort out, the glass, and then the painting. Went for a walk as the sun was setting; it’s been a long time since I’ve walked alone on a path in the woods. I’ve never been afraid to walk alone at night, but my age must be showing because I had a little trepidation. Occasionally women are attacked on trails in these parts, though I’ve never given it much thought. I’ve got a mean right hook.
Today is the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and I’m remembering my grandfather who signed up for the Navy as a chaplain in the South Pacific when he heard the news. Not many left from WWII these days, and fewer every year. God bless.
