An incredibly busy Christmas Eve. Spent much of the day cleaning the new bathroom (it’s not clean until it’s Snyder Clean) and moving our belongings back downstairs from the guest room into our bedroom. Felt so incredibly nice to sleep in our own bed again for the first time in more than 2 months!
Went for a relaxing walk in my local happy place: Frying Pan Farm Park and noticed that they planted tree seedlings in protective tubes. Looked familiar, since Hubby and I (along with more than 100 volunteers) planted more than 20,000 trees in Scotland, using these same style tubes (only ours were wider and shorter). Baked a ginger cake for tomorrow’s Christmas dessert, thanks to my new favorite comfort food cook Dame Mary Berry.
This evening, Hubby and I sat by the fire pit in the back yard. We roasted sausages because we didn’t want to waste the coals (and we didn’t have marshmallows on hand). It’s been a mild day and promises to be even milder tomorrow. Tonight I’m going to the 10 PM Christmas Eve service at the Presbyterian church down the road, where my sister and brother-in-law are members and sing in the choir. Hubby is headed for bed.
Familiar rug on your wall…how many years I’ve looked at that rug! Ü
Yep; been meaning to get it appraised.
