Hurray for the sun today. The walking path hasn’t been plowed, so it’s tricky going, which strains my already wonky right hip. I took a detour for the picture of the buildings. The huge glassy one was started pre-covid and they just keep working on it. The plans were to accommodate offices, apartments, and shops near a new Metro station. Will it ever be fully occupied now? These days, there is a lot of unoccupied office real estate. My employer was ready to move us into a new building last April, one month after everyone was ordered to stay home. Will the use of these buildings need to be repurposed? I can’t see anyone going back to an office anytime soon. I know I’m not! Housing for the homeless? I read somewhere that empty hotels are housing homeless. I hope this is true. I hope people in charge of these things are rethinking better ways to live. There is no excuse for all this space to remain empty when people are homeless.

On the trail through the woods I stumbled upon a village of people who won’t be around long enough to care.
