Dreary and gray today. Harvested a few greens from the garden this morning, in honor of National Gardening Day: kale, chard, and lettuce. I’m so grateful for a Hubby who loves growing things, even if I sometimes complain there is way too much and that 90% of our back yard is in vegetables and flowers, meaning there isn’t much of a place to sit apart from on the patio—which is next to the compost heap. Hubby’s goal is to wipe out the grass, although I wish he’d find an alternative to mulch and boardwalks. I should just stop complaining and be grateful his hobby isn’t fast cars and younger women.
One whole week this year I’m going to eat nothing but what comes from the garden. I’ll have to psych myself up for it, though, and wait until more things come on, like beans, peas, and peppers I could request a National Flatulence Week, although National Pass Gas Day was January 7.
It’s also National Ex-spouse Day (no application to me), International Moment of Laughter (had a few of those at work), National Look Up at the Sky Day (I would if it wasn’t raining), and National RAINN Day, which is appropriate from a homonym standpoint, although the actual topic is pretty serious. Heartfelt well-wishes to those who suffer.
