It felt like the dead of winter this morning in upstate New York at a stiff 28 degrees, with cooler wind chill. My sister and I went for a chilly 3-mile walk anyway. After lunch we moved Mom’s furniture and miscellaneous belongings into her new room. She hasn’t seen it in person yet, and we’re trying to make the room as homey as possible for her grand viewing and move-in on Monday. We test drove her computer, phone, and television so she doesn’t have to deal with electronica issues–although the computer needed a little TLC. Several of the residents who live on her floor are excited for her arrival. We’re told she’s the only one with a scooter and a computer—and the first resident to move in during these Covid times. She’s feeling anxious but knows one of her daughters is nearby to take her on outings. I feel good about her moving here, as well as a little anxious for her. The first week or two will be an adjustment. She’ll be more comfortable once we have pictures on the wall.
She will be fine!! She will accept every thing with a smile!! Make sure you send her address to the church! Love and hugs !!!
Updated email, address, and phone to be printed in the next church newsletter.
