A dullish President’s Day, but in keeping up my promise to write a bit every day this year, here it is:
Was so damp and cold, the closest I got to going outside was opening my front door and stepping on the porch. It took all of five seconds to decide that the only exercise I was going to get was three miles on the treadmill. I try to get outside every day, but having spent the past three days doing my daily walk in the cold and icy drizzle, well, it was time for a break. Yes, the view in my basement lacks excitement (see picture). I listened to a murder mystery on Audible to while away the hour. Before the year is out, we’ll have a finished basement.
I had the day off work and spent it researching Hollywood film producers in preparation for a pitch festival I signed up for a month from now (stay tune). Zoomed with my writers group to learn about more sources for getting indie book reviews, then Zoomed with a sister and Mom for a daily early evening check-in. Mom has been in great spirits despite being cooped up in assisted living for countless months. At least she and all the residents and staff have been vaccinated now. We’re planning our first ever Zoom birthday party for her at the end of the month.
Pretty bleak. But your new basement will be faboo!
