My first week back to work; a 4-day week, which went fast but probably because I found it hard to focus, for obvious reasons. Also, after two weeks off, it’s the first day back at my Zoom yoga class in my basement space. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without my sangha. It kept me sane and grounded in 2020, meeting with like-minded people and holding one another in loving kindness. Some of us in this group have been practicing together for more than 10 years, supporting each other through deaths of parents, spouses, and pets, as well as graduations, marriages, job changes, illnesses moves, and other life events.
My other life saver: our infrared sauna, which sometimes doubles as a mediation space and a sound recording booth. Listen to a recording I did of a meditation I offer you (more to come in this year). Oh, and tonight’s sleep aid: a bottle or organic pinot noir—well not the whole bottle, just a glass. Typically, I don’t write or tell stories about alcohol (and January is supposed to be a dry month), but I’m not a big drinker anyway, and hey, it’s what I’m doing tonight because I just want to chill and numb a little.
