March 8, 2021
Today is International Women’s Day, although it’s always perplexed me why women get only day a year to be recognized. Same goes for Black History Month. Just a month? How about we recognize the value of all folks every day?
Today, I’d like to also recognize my cable company for keeping us connected to the internet. Trucks in the neighborhood explain why my connection has been sketchy lately.
The first part of March also marks a few notable anniversaries for me: a year ago was the last in-person book presentation I did; the last day in the office before my employer told us to stay home until further notice; and the last time I was on an airplane. It’s weird not having flown anywhere for a year (12 trips canceled in 2020), although I don’t miss the hassle of air travel. It’s been nice staying home. I feel more relaxed and have had more time for reflection. And more time to appreciate the flowers Hubby planted outside my office window.
what are the blue flowers?
