Beautiful, warm day! I could not get motivated at work. This is my last week on the team, and in anticipation of my new role starting Monday, I’ve lost all oomph for my current role. I have one more project to wrap up—make that two projects—and then it’s clean out the inbox folders and review the bookmarks through Friday. The only people who came to the house today were the cleaner and the dryer repairman. The latter had the wrong replacement part and has now left us with a nonfunctioning dryer and a wad of wet rags. My cleaner was impressed with the new basement (her husband painted it), and she’ll soon have some extra money for cleaning that space too.
Went for a late afternoon walk in one of my local happy places: the farm park. Scratched a few ears, tickled a few noses, and stirred a few feathers with my brilliant chicken impression, which often gets the cluckers wondering what kind of bird I am. It’s International Tongue Twister Day, so here goes: Sarah saw a stinky sow suckling several scampering shoats under sunny skies.
Went to my sister’s house after my walk to do a bunch of household things and favors. Her back is getting better but they’re both still immobile for all intents. Today’s gratitude: being able to pay it forward, or in this case, pay it back, since they helped me out earlier this year when I was immobile from the ankle thing.
