A classically cool, blustery, autumnal day if ever there was one. For the first time this season it really did feel like fall. I ditched putting the basement back together today in favor of baking 3 loaves of almond bread and making granola before heading out to do a bunch of errands. Apparently, a package arrived for me at work (I have no idea what it is), so I stopped by the office to get it. But no one knew where it was (they located it after I left). Since I was there, I grabbed a to-go box of lunch, which I brought home for Hubby’s supper.

I learned the mother of one of my best friends died yesterday. It was expected, although these things are still always difficult. Some day that will be me and I’ve been preparing emotionally for it. Mamacita will be missed beyond words but I’ll cross that speechless moment when it comes.

The contractors didn’t come today, but they’ll have fun when they do come back. Water started leaking again through the dining room from the upstairs bath. Hubby was soaking in the too-small-for-him tub when I heard water dripping in the dining room. It’s leaking from a slightly different place, and we think it’s the overflow drain this time. Hubby’s bath was pretty full, and there are no leaks when the shower is used. Here we go again with cutting a hole in the dining room ceiling. January 2022, are you there?

I’ve been invited to talk on a podcast later in the year about my book DIY Solo Retreats. Still trying to keep the momentum up for book sales, which have plummeted recently for all my books. I think it’s because my Amazon ads used up my monthly budget within the first week of the month and won’t start running again until the first of next month. I have to figure this out because I can’t keep spending a ton on ads every month and not break even on sales. On the other hand, my books don’t sell much if I don’t advertise. Still waiting for that influencer. Oprah, are you there?
