Had my two interviews today: the first went well and the second, well, we’ll see. Didn’t feel so confident about that one. I should know the results by Monday. My team found out today that another colleague is moving to another team. We lost one person already, and if I get this new role, I’ll be third person to leave. Though we’re a good group, and I enjoy my colleagues, we’ve been somewhat rudderless for the past year. Our original manager is long-term leave, and the person we report to in the interim doesn’t have a whole lot of time for us, which has affected our morale and the reason some of us want to leave.

After work I met my painter at the paint store to buy, yep, paint. For the basement. He’s hoping to start Saturday, which means we’re getting closer to completion! Next door to the paint store is one of those ubiquitous mattress places, so I popped in to buy a new one for the basement room, where we’ll move our weekday tenant to in another month or so.

Talked to Mamacita tonight for the first time in more than a week. She was cheery and keeping busy. She said someone had set up a badminton net in the common room, and they batted around a balloon. I would love to have seen that. Mama’s still got it!
