Still feeling quite upset by yesterday\u2019s events at the Capitol, while also hopeful that the good people of America will have the courage and the will to do the right thing. Despite my conviction to practice right speech this year (see my final blog post of 2020<\/a>), January 6 really tested me. I haven\u2019t cussed that hard and nasty for, I don\u2019t know, at least a month. Kidding (it\u2019s been two months). I must have been due for a good spew, although it goes against my grain to verbally denigrate and dehumanize others. That is the ploy of those who fail to see our oneness in an effort to justify their hatred of Other.<\/p>\n

The better news is that Hubby and I don\u2019t have covid after a high-risk exposure. I don\u2019t want to know what the stats are for false negatives. No symptoms, anyway. Since March 2020, Hubby and I both have rediscovered the pleasure of doing puzzles. I used to do them with my dad when I\u2019d go home to visit. We put both leaves in our dining room table to make enough room for each of us to do our own puzzle (we have different tastes in level of ease and picture preferences). Puzzles have helped us escape from news of the world and forced us to focus in small parts of a larger whole, to bite off small bits at a time. I have the picture on the box sitting in front of me but I usually only gaze at from time to time. I rarely use it to find which piece goes where, instead relying on my ability to match shapes and colors. No two pieces are completely alike yet all have their place for creating a beautiful whole. We can learn a lot from puzzles. We\u2019ll certainly be working on one of massive proportions for a long time to come.<\/p>\n
