I nearly went to bed before writing this daily microblog\u2026was practically crawling under the sheets when I forced myself back into my office. My computer is still warm, because I only just turned it off a few minutes ago after spending most of the evening working on another writing project. This is either a testament to my never-give-in stubbornness or a mark of dedication. Maybe a little of both, seeing as how today, like many, passed relatively uneventful. Yet my pledge to a creativity pact has kept me creating this daily account of minutia faithfully since January 1 without miss. So here I am.<\/p>\n

Today stands out for two things:<\/p>\n

  1. Learning that a coworker\u2019s uncle wrote the music for Anita Baker\u2019s song, \u201cCaught up in the Rapture of Love,\u201d among other musical credits. My college roomie and I played the grooves off that debut album of Ms. Baker\u2019s, and I remain a fan to this day. I even scrounged up the album to take a picture for my coworker.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u00a0<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Learning about item #1 warranted a text to said college roomie to tell her about my two degrees of separation from Anita Baker, which led to a texting frenzy of reminiscences of the old days as well as trying to gain bragging rights as to which of us was less organized and less likely to accomplish all the creative projects we each have floating around in our heads. No, she and I don\u2019t argue about who is \u201cbetter.\u201d We argue about who is \u201cworse.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n


      Oh, and I had a really chilly walk to this urban water catchment, which I\u2019ve always seen from a distance but never bothered to check out.<\/p>\n
