I could not get to sleep last night nor out of bed before 8 this morning\u2014thank you Daylight Loser Time. Then I discovered it\u2019s National Napping Day, so the way I see it is I just took my nap at the beginning of the day instead of this afternoon. Why are naps mandatory for young children at school but not for adults during the work day? Of course, working from home has made napping a little easier. Thankfully, I have an employer who, when we are in the office, provides nap pods.<\/p>\n

The hawks were out today. Saw a few in our back yard swooping after songbirds. We occasionally find piles of feathers in the yard after a hawk has had its meal. On my walk today another one flew in front of me chasing a little bird. It landed in a nearby tree, empty-taloned. Beware the Ides of March, thou little songbirds.<\/p>\n

The daffodils are also starting to pop out in many places, although not so much in our yard yet. Hubby has been obssessively monitoring them and cursing the squirrels when he sees bare patches where he believes sprouting dafs should be. I\u2019ll probably miss them, since I\u2019ll be away for a couple of weeks beginning next week. But I\u2019m certain I\u2019ll receive daily reports and pictures from the one remaining at home.<\/p>\n
