I\u2019ve been all out on the creative writing front these past several weeks gearing up for this weekend\u2019s Hollywood pitch festival. This is where I have a great idea for a film and a TV series and I set up Skype meetings with various producers who are in the market for I\u2019m selling. And they give me 5 minutes to dazzle them with my incredible creative vision and offer me millions to buy my scripts. This is the plan anyway. I have 14 pitch sessions over the course of Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I just spent a stressful hour going online and attempting to book all these meetings. It was one of those “On your marks, get set, go!” things, where they open up the bookings at a certain time and you have to nab the limited time slots with the companies you want. Like a feeding frenzy with all of us creatives booking simultaneously.<\/p>\n
I got most of what I wanted. And because it\u2019s Hollywood, some of my meetings are scheduled late into the evening my time. Did I mention I\u2019m also in a live storytelling show on Friday? I have a pitch about an hour before my live story and two pitches after my live story. I hope my voice and enthusiasm can hold up. On Monday, my last pitch is at 9:30 PM, the day before I’m going to get in the car and drive 11 hours.<\/p>\n
