<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Had a sudden attack of a bad stomach this morning and no clue what brought it on. Today marks one week since getting the second covid shot, but it\u2019s unclear whether the tummy thing was related. It cleared up after an hour, and for most of the day I worked to the music of a concrete saw, a jackhammer (busting up concreted into smaller chunks), and lots of banging. The guys finished one window\u2014it\u2019s nearly as tall as me! Two more to go. They\u2019re supposed to have the door in tomorrow, along with the retaining wall, which is now sitting in two palettes in my front yard. I guess the noise is a dress rehearsal for when they begin the basement work. I\u2019m already planning for where else in the house I can go to work to avoid the saws and hammers.<\/p>\n
When Hubby got home from work, we went to the library. I was going mad from the noise and vibrations. While he searched for books, I walked home along the bike path. But I made stop at Bar Taco for three small-bite tacos (fish, spicy chicken, and mushroom) and a bowl of black beans. I thought it was National Eat Anything You Want Day, so I thought I\u2019d oblige; however, that day is tomorrow. Just getting a jumpstart. Obviously the old tums was feeling better.<\/p>\n
It was the first time I\u2019ve eaten inside a restaurant since March 2020. Only a couple other people were there. Reston Town Center was practically a ghost town, where once it was a bustling, crowded suburban district where you couldn\u2019t find an open table for love nor money any day of the week between 5 and 8 PM. The lack of people not using the business real estate hasn\u2019t put a damper on the two high rises going up. This place ain\u2019t the sleepy little town it used to be when we moved here. Neither is where I came from, apparently. All reports are that houses are about as expensive in Montana now than they are here. When I first started looking for houses in Montana, I could get one for $37k. Of course interest rates were around 13%, but at $37k, that would still be cheaper then a house more than ten times that at 2.5% interest. (Or at least I think it would; I\u2019m not good at math and I can\u2019t be bothered to check my claim.)<\/p>\n
