Busy, busy, busy. We started the day with a 10-mile (each way) bike ride to a neighboring town, stopping at a brewery to eat breakfast on the patio. While we ate we talked on the phone with Hubby\u2019s daughter in Scotland. She\u2019s getting ready to leave the retreat center where she\u2019s been living and working (and where her dad and I met), for a short break before heading to her next great adventure in July. It\u2019s always such a pleasure talking to her and we\u2019re looking forward to seeing her again someday. On the ride home, we stopped at the foot doctor for Hubby to get warts drilled out. Tonight we\u2019re both hobbling around on sore feet.<\/p>\n

This afternoon my nephew in Chicago and his new wife celebrated their marriage at a Zoom wedding, my first. They got married at the justice of the peace a couple of weeks ago and had a reception party at their house today. Loved sharing in their joy, and we\u2019re grateful to have his wife as part of our family. Some folks were there in person but most were online. I got to visit with some nieces and nephews from California and my siblings, scattered around the country. We had a great time chatting and catching up. I\u2019m so proud of all my nieces and nephews, who\u2019ve become such fantastic adults\u2014and some of them also now fantastic parents. Brimming with love for my family today. Also happy that Mamacita got to watch and celebrate from my sister\u2019s house.<\/p>\n
The contractors finally came to finish the yard, getting rid of Clay Mountain, smoothing out the dirt, planting grass seed, covering it with straw, and finishing the driveway extension. No more Bobcat bits and bobs for lawn ornaments, yay! Later some friends dropped by for garden produce and a chat. Tonight we\u2019re chilling out in front of Gardener\u2019s World on television, one of us with a vodka tonic, the other with a bottle of wine.<\/p>\n
