Today is International Yoga Day, and boy do I sure need it. After work, I spent a few hours putting back together the upstairs rooms. The contractor finally finished the bathroom, so I could continue doing my deep clean. I moved a lot of shirtzky around\u2014Hubby helped when he came home\u2014and am feeling the aches. My only outing was to do a few errands before the rains came, and come they did\u2014another tropical-like downpour for several minutes. I wish we could ship some of this rain to the West. The new basement door is still leaking under the sill, and I continue to send pictures for the contractor that installed that. He\u2019s been avoiding me, although I know he\u2019s good for getting it fixed as soon as he comes up for air. It\u2019s like that with all the builders around here: too much work and not enough time.<\/p>\n
I haven\u2019t been able to attend my Friday morning yoga class for several weeks, thanks to Chipped Ankle Bone and THE BOOT. I\u2019ve been going to the class for more than ten years, and before that, I\u2019ve been taking yoga from that same instructor since 2006. She\u2019s beyond the best yoga instructor I\u2019ve ever had, and I\u2019ve been doing yoga since 1991. I miss that class and my fellow yoginis and in general getting stretched and strengthened and breathed. That class has done so much for my emotional well-being over the years. I can do some yoga on my own, sitting postures, but I\u2019m not motivated. I need structure and the socialization that class provides. One thing I have been good about is slowing down in 2021 after a hectic 2020 of nonstop online book promoting and related marketing. Sales of my memoir have taken on a life of their own, slowing increasing every day. I\u2019m still waiting for Oprah\u2019s people to call, though.<\/p>\n
I haven\u2019t talked to the Mama in nearly two weeks either. My sister and her husband have been visiting her, so I figured she was in good hands. They return home tomorrow. And my other sister will be returning to New York, so she\u2019ll take over Mama duties. But I will start regular calls again; I miss talking to her and telling her about my day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
