A quiet day in the office, Fridays usually are, which is why I go in on that day. I took some time to enjoy the views from the high rise, including watching a massive thunderstorm roll in. I\u2019ve been praying for torrents of rain so I can check whether there are any more leaks in my basement before they put the drywall up in a couple of weeks. Contractor #2 finally came to seal a wall crack, after more than a month of promises, and no sooner had he finished than we got the rain. The only problem was that we picked that time to go grocery shopping and left the house without closing the windows on the porch. Yep, soaked everything. A half hour and five towels later I had it wiped dry\u2014or at least as dry as possible. The couch and chair cushions are scattered around the living room to dry out. We\u2019ll see whether the lamp shade recovers. The good news is no sign of basement leakage. We have tomorrow to test it out too, since it\u2019s supposed to rain for the most of the day.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s Friday the 13th<\/sup> and also National Blame Someone Else Day, a fortuitous combination if ever there was one. It\u2019s working for me at the moment since I\u2019m mad at Hubby for something stupid (it\u2019s his fault). The irony being that I\u2019m getting ready to upload a guided meditation to my website titled \u201cExploring Forgiveness.\u201d Yeah, working on it. A bucket of fried chicken and a vodka tonic are helping soothe the soul. Why do people say and do stupid things? Finding the stormy night helpful too.<\/p>\n
