Rode my bike to the office this morning. It’s much quieter there these days since they invoked the mask mandate even while sitting at our desks. For a while we could unmask at our desks, but the delta variant has increased infection rates in the county, so here we are. I thought I’d stop coming when that happened but realized I needed the break from home and to see people. Today, the launched the coffee bar, complete with barista making specialty drinks. I craved a decalf mocha cappuccino but they didn’t have chocolate syrup (quel horror!), which was really a good thing for my body health but a bummer for my psychological health. I opted for the regular cappuccino with almond milk, which I can make myself with the machines we have available to us in the micro-kitchens. But I wanted to support their grand opening.<\/p>\n

When I arrived home, Hubby had put together our new turbo-sized bike rack, which I can just about lift onto the tail hitch. While he futzed with the particulars, I rode to the cemetery for my afternoon decompression walk. Any good feelings resulting from said walk were soon challenged when we decided to watch the documentary “Kiss the Ground<\/a>.” (Spoiler alert: there is hope, but….) The message: time to love this planet, folks (even the squirrels and chipmunks that sometimes dig up your stuff). Love is the answer.<\/p>\n
