Today we moved the contents of the pod back into our basement. The pod has been a fixture in our driveway since July 16, and I\u2019ll be super glad to get rid of it. Right now, it\u2019s storing miscellaneous things I\u2019m not sure what to do with\u2014things I probably should have gotten rid of before we loaded them into the pod. My painter lent his guy to help us, since I wasn\u2019t of much use to Hubby moving the heavy or large things. We got the sauna put back together, but the outlet receptacle that was newly installed in the new basement sauna room is the wrong one, so I\u2019ll have to wait before using it. However, it still can serve as my sound booth. My next project is to do an audio version of one of my books.<\/p>\n

I was pleased we managed to accomplish so much although the garage still looks like a storage pod exploded in it. Chief among the items is a mountain of carpet remnants, some of which will probably go back into the basement and others that I\u2019ll\u2014yikes\u2014probably have to throw out, as much as I hate the thought. Maybe I\u2019ll give Freecycle or Craigslist a try first.<\/p>\n
Later in the day we got a wild hair and decided to look for a headboard for the new bed in the basement bedroom (where our biweekly tenant is getting moved to). We didn\u2019t find anything suitable at our favorite furniture store, but they did have a nearly life-size bronze camel out front that Hubby climbed up because he can\u2019t resist a moment to misbehave. Asking him not to use to the nice patio furniture as a step stool only made him want to climb on the camel even more.<\/p>\n
Tonight I did another storytelling show; fortunately, this one was online so I didn\u2019t have to memorize it, which was good because I was still writing it about an hour before the curtain went up. I really gotta do something about this procrastination obsession.<\/p>\n
Tonight we\u2019re sleeping upstairs in the guest room, which will be the first of many nights until Christmas, when the master bathroom remodel is finished. I\u2019m ready for that bed just about now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
