How is it that you can add a ton of new living space to your house and still not find a place to put your crap? Or more like, the stuff we had just doesn\u2019t have a place in our house anymore. Much of it is for our tenant, so we\u2019re earning money back on the build, which will also free up the upstairs for Airbnb again. We had to shut it down when covid struck, but we\u2019re hoping to be back in business again in the New Year. What we really need is a big yard sale\u2014or a bonfire. Today, Hubby and I tried to figure out where he wanted his workout area in the basement (me: \u201chow about in this area?\u201d; him: \u201cI want it over here\u201d; me: \u201cokay, put it there\u201d; him: \u201cbut maybe it would be better there\u201d \u2014where I had originally suggested; me: \u201cokay\u201d; him: but maybe not, I don\u2019t know\u201d; rinse, repeat). We also argued over which carpet remnants (me: \u201clet\u2019s keep them\u201d; him: \u201clet\u2019s get rid of them and buy proper area rugs\u201d; me: \u201cI thought you didn\u2019t want to spend more money\u201d; him: \u201cbut those remnants are crap\u201d; me: \u201cthey\u2019re brand new\u201d; rinse, repeat). I have a feeling this new basement will be a work in progress for months to come.<\/p>\n
We\u2019re preparing for trick-or-treaters tonight. Since when did a couple bags of Halloween candy cost nearly $30? Every year I say I\u2019m going to buy healthy snacks for the kids and every year I don\u2019t do it. Maybe if we earned the reputation of passing out healthy stuff, kids will stop coming\u2014which wouldn\u2019t be a bad thing. No more getting up every few minutes to answer the door. Except, I used to LOVE Halloween as a kid and so I\u2019m perpetuating the tradition of handing out tooth-rot and making kids happy. It\u2019s been a busy 10 days off; I think I\u2019m looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
