Pinch, punch, first of the month. Got my UK friend. I got Hubby on a technicality because although he said the words at 1 AM when I got up to go to the bathroom, he didn\u2019t actually pinch\u2013punch me. So when I crawled back in bed again, I got him seconds before he got me. I don\u2019t think he\u2019s willing to concede. On that note, I cannot believe it\u2019s December already. Only 30 more blog posts to go to meet my self-imposed creative experiment to blog every day in 2021. Not that it hasn\u2019t been a good experience\u2014even if the content has been inconsequential\u2014but I\u2019m ready to trade this endeavor in for another one: starting and completing a screenplay that\u2019s been rolling around in my head since March (and even longer if you count that it started as a short story in 1998).<\/p>\n

Today was my long day at work, with a weekly staff meeting that doesn\u2019t end until 6 PM (the joys of having a team scattered across multiple time zones). I took a break midday for an afternoon walk, since the temps are back up to mild and pleasant. The wallpaper genius came today to finish my yoga room, which now looks like a forest sanctuary and will add a calming effect to my workouts. After seeing his expertise in the flesh, I\u2019m glad I didn\u2019t attempt this myself. It took him about 5 hours to do it right, while it would have taken me 3 hours to screw it up. Tomorrow the bathroom tile should be finished, and they\u2019ll start setting the cabinets by Friday. Not to rush things, but I\u2019m looking forward to January.<\/p>\n
