Finally got the recycled kitchen base cabinets (from someone else\u2019s house) installed in my garage, which were supposed to have been installed last August. Also got my new door that leads out to the new little side deck off the garage and near where the garbage cans will now live instead of inside the garage. Maybe we\u2019ll finally have room to park two cars in the garage. Also scored a relatively new carpet with padding through Freecycle. It sets off Mamacita\u2019s piano quite nicely in the basement. All the contractors have promised they\u2019ll finish their work by week\u2019s end, and I want to believe them! Hubby has made me promise there will be no more home remodeling for another 30 years. (I haven\u2019t said \u201cyes\u201d yet.) I keep thinking how nice to not be interrupted or have to manage this and that and the other while trying to get my own work done to a cacophony of saws, drills, and hammers. I might actually be able to spend a few days at my new assigned desk in the office building because I won\u2019t be needed at home to answer questions about where I want light switches or towel racks situated. But then someone at work passed around a frightfully true meme on email, bringing me down again:<\/p>\n

Adulthood is saying, \u201cBut after next week, things will slow down,\u201d over and over again until you die.<\/em><\/p>\n

This is my life. I\u2019m sensing a need to create a commitment to resolving this in 2022. I might even be able to read for pleasure! Now that does sound fun.<\/p>\n
