Today is Go Caroling Day. We used to go caroling with a group of families from my dad\u2019s church when I was growing up. We\u2019d stop by all the houses of what we called the \u201cshut-ins\u201d which doesn\u2019t sound too PC these days. Usually they were the elderly members of the church who were too feeble to come to church anymore. After a few hours caroling, we\u2019d all come back to our house for goodies, wassail, and partying\u2014in the nice Christian family way. I remember it being cold, sometimes snowy, but we\u2019d sure bring smiles to the faces we\u2019d sing for. Mom always made her famous fudge and butter crunch candy, which she slathered in melted chocolate. We\u2019d have cookies of all kinds. And Dad loved his wassail. The smell of simmering on the stovetop would fill the house for days. Do people carol anymore?<\/p>\n

Back to the salt mines today. Spent two hours at the office on the help line with tech support troubleshooting my desktop computer. My monitor at home went teacups up on Friday, so I\u2019m left with a small screen on my laptop, which doesn\u2019t work well when you have to have multiple screens open simultaneously. Good thing it\u2019s Christmas and most people are out of the office; nothing much is happening, so it\u2019s a good time to be hamstrung.<\/p>\n

The shower glass went in today\u2014still inching toward bathroom completion. Tomorrow they\u2019re supposed to fix the tub drain leak. Maybe Hubby will get to test drive it in the next couple of days.<\/p>\n
